Pastor Fred Higgins, Lead Pastor
​
Pastor Fred is new to BCUMC, joining us on July 1, 2020. Pastor Fred and Susan have been married for 43 years. They have two adult children and one grandson. Daughter Evelyn, J.J., and grandson Miles, live in Solon. Son, James and Catie live in Akron. Pastor Fred has been a licensed local pastor now for 8 years. He attended Kent State University and is currently studying at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has served churches for 20 years throughout Northeast Ohio as a Lay Servant, providing pulpit supply preaching. Pastor Fred enjoys hiking, cycling, traveling and looks forward to spending time with Susan and their extended family. He says, “Serving God is the culmination of my life’s work and I look forward to this new journey.”
Josh Harbin, Youth Director

Josh has been serving in youth ministry for over 11 years, and has been faithfully serving as our youth director at Berlin Center Church for over 10 years. Josh and his wife Aleesha both have a passion and calling for ministry and love serving the Lord at Berlin Center Church. Josh enjoys hunting, fishing, playing music, good coffee, taking care of his saltwater fish tanks, and helping young people grow in their faith. He received a degree in Human Services from Kent State University. In addition to youth ministry, Josh and Aleesha also help lead our worship team and music ministry.
